About Pomeranians
Pomeranians descend from much larger Spitz-type sled dogs from the Pomerania region of northern Europe, and the breed's dramatic shrink in size is largely credited to Queen Victoria, who fell for a small Pomeranian in Italy in the late 1800s and bred toward that smaller look.
